    NEET (UG) 2026 Paper Leak: Opposition Slams NDA Govt, Sisodia Says Gen-Z Will Oust It

    Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s continuing celebrations over its massive victory particularly in West Bengal Assembly Elections suddenly has met with anger and protest by youth across the country over NEET (UG) 2026 paper leak and subsequent cancellation of the test by National Testing Agency (NTA), as per outburst of youth on social media, reactions from Opposition leaders and various media reports.

    The Central government has ordered a CBI probe into the paper leakage while special operation group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police arrested as many as 13 persons in connection with the paper leak that has left more than 2.2 million students distraught.

    National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducted the test has announced that new date for the test would be announced later.

    The paper leak this year which came in form of a guess paper containing 450 questions comes merely two years after the previous NEET paper leak driving the students to demand accountability to be fixed on those who are responsible for the paper leak and harsh punishment to those.

    The Opposition parties have slammed the NDA government at the Centre and also its minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.

    While leader Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying “Prime Minister’s so call Amritkaal (Era of nectar) has turned to be an era of poison for the country”, Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia went to the extent of reminding the PM what the Gen-Z did in Nepal.

    Talking to a news agency he even said Gen-Z would oust the government.

    This is not the first time when NDA government in general and Dharmendra Pradhan in particular has assured strict action against culprits of paper leakage and check recurrence of the leakage.

    There was a demand from a number of people on X (formerly Twitter) for scrapping NTA and resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.

    NEET-UG 2026 was conducted at more than 5400 examination centres in more than 550 cities across India and 14 cities abroad on May 3, 2026 involving more than 2.2 million candidates.

    Within a few days, serious allegations emerged regarding the paper leakage leading to cancellation of the test on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

    In April and in May before the test was conducted NTA repeatedly assured the students that the test was going to be conducted with a robust mechanism in place and all the papers were secure. It also denied rumours regarding paper leaks circulating on social media, assuring candidates that all papers were secure.

    However, Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) began investigating the paper leakage after it came to know about a “guess paper”containing more than 400 questions and later recovered the same.

    As per media reports, the “guess paper” had allegedly been circulated at least 15 days to a month before the test was conducted, among coaching students in hubs like Sikar and Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, Dehradun in Uttrakhand, and certain other places.

    SOG’s preliminary probe led it to an MBBS student from Churu in Rajasthan who is studying in Kerala, who allegedly shared the guess paper via WhatsApp with some students in Sikar. It then spread to other places.

    As per reports 100 to 140 questions printed in the guess paper later had exact match particularly in Chemistry and Biology with the questions printed in the actual papers circulated among candidates on the day of the test on May 3.

    As per unverified claims, each set of guess paper was sold for as high as Rs 5 lakh and as low as Rs 30000 per student.

    As per police, it arrested as many as 13 persons in connection with the crime from Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Dehradun while Central government has announced the hand over the probe to CBI now.

    NTA has official confirmed that the test has been cancelled and new dates for the test would be announced later.
