Bhopal: Every day, millions of people around the world interact with Google without ever realizing that a piece of its intelligence was shaped by a young man from Bhopal.
Anurag Goyal’s journey from studying Engineering at the Technocrats Institute of Technology (TIT) to leading critical product design initiatives at Google’s global headquarters in Mountain View, California, is a powerful reminder of where curiosity can take you.
Driven by a passion for how humans interact with technology, Anurag moved to the US to pursue a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, setting off a rewarding career transition from front-end engineering to elite user-experience (UX) design.

At Google, Anurag has driven key design strategies for highly critical features like AI overviews, performance emails, and the mobile notifications framework for Google Analytics, transforming complex data metrics into proactive, easy-to-read insights for businesses worldwide.
However, Anurag’s impact stretches far beyond corporate software.
He recently won the prestigious 2026 Award of Distinction for Social Impact at the Communicator Awards. The honor was given for his foundational design work on LungTalk, a digital health platform backed by a $3.5 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR).
The tool addresses a profound public health crisis: while clinical guidelines for lung cancer screenings exist, many high-risk patients avoid them due to fear and medical anxiety.
Anurag built the entire user experience from scratch, using deep empathy to translate clinical data into a supportive, conversational digital flow.
“Good design requires thousands of ‘No’s’ to arrive at the single, perfect ‘Yes’ that a user experiences,” Anurag explains.
“When you are designing for someone facing a potential health crisis, user testing isn’t just about app efficiency—it’s about absolute clarity under immense stress. Simplifying those medical flows directly impacts human lives”, he says.
Despite his demanding role in Silicon Valley, Anurag hasn’t forgotten his roots or the community. He remains a dedicated mentor, contributing over 4,000 minutes of free professional guidance to aspiring designers globally via ADPList.org. He regularly serves as an expert juror evaluating global talent for elite industry accolades like the Webby, Telly, and A’ Design Awards.
