There have been a few names here and there due to human error, which I am not aware of, but the Election Commission’s job in conducting free and fair elections has been impeccable whether it’s Nehru’s time or Indira Gandhi’s or Atal ji’s or now Modi’s time
-Madhya Pradesh BJP President Hemant Khandelwal
Rubbishing LoP Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s allegations that BJP manipulated Assembly elections results in several states including Madhya Pradesh, as baseless state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal vouched for, what he said, Election Commission of India’s impartiality adding it has done an excellent job since Nehru time.
Post his H-File wherein he claimed a Brazilian model ’s photo had appeared multiple times in Haryana’s voters’ list Rahul Gandhi repeated his allegations that BJP in collusion with Election Commission of India indulged in vote theft in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections and even in Lok Sabha elections by manipulating the voters’ lists.
Rahul Gandhi has raised vote-chori as a major issue during ongoing state assembly elections in Bihar talking of how the vote-chori was committed in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana and other states and that how the BJP and ECI might do this again in Bihar.

“There have been a few names here and there due to human error, which I am not aware of, but the Election Commission’s job in conducting free and fair elections has been impeccable whether it’s Nehru’s time or Indira Gandhi’s or Atal ji’s or now Modi’s time”, said Khandelwal talking to media persons on Friday at the state BJP headquarters.
The fact is, he added, impartiality of Election Commission of India is cited as an example in the entire world”, he said.
This is why, he said, the ECI was conducting special intensive revision (SIR) of voters lists to ensure each and every voter who was a genuine voter was added to the list and none of the persons who were not eligible be left out of the list.
Khandelwal said Congress suffered massive defeat in Madhya Pradesh as also certain other states, hence its allegations coming out of frustration.
“Instead of looking into its own weakness the Congress is talking of manipulation of election results. The fact is Opposition parties including Congress have governments in states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Punjab and certain other states”, added the state BJP president implying that had there been manipulations the Opposition parties would not have been able to win state assembly elections in these states.
During a press conference on the eve of first phase of polling for Bihar state assembly elections Rahul Gandhi with a title of his H-file being “Vote Chori – The H Files” alleged large-scale electoral manipulations in Haryana Assembly elections in 2024, which he claimed, turned the Congress’ “landslide victory” into a BJP win.
Gandhi accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of colluding with the BJP in a coordinated “vote theft” operation at state and national levels.
He positioned this as part of a broader threat to Indian democracy, urging opposition unity and youth awareness.
Gandhi alleged that there were as many as 25 lakh fake voters in Haryaya equating to 1 fake voter among every 8 voters (12.5%) being fraudulent. This, he added, included 5.21 lakh duplicates, 93174 invalid voters and 19.26 lakh “bulk voters” added systematically.
Earlier, during Voter Adhikar Yatra he repeatedly claimed that BJP won Lok Sabha elections and also state assembly elections in states like Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra by committing “Vote-chori”.
