As it happened just after refuelling and not one or two vehicles but as many as 19 vehicles came to a halt it was suspected that the diesel supplied by the petrol pump was adulterated and possibly mixed with water

Bhopal: The tagline used by Madhya Pradesh tourism department in promoting the state as an excellent tourism destination is ‘MP Azab Hai Gazab Hai’. This came true once again as corruption didn’t spare even chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav’s convoy in Ratlam district and as many as 19 vehicles came to a halt after refuelling at a petrol pump on Thursday (June 26, 2025).

As per local media’s reports, these vehicles left for Ratlam on Thursday ahead of chief minister’s visit to the district on Friday to inaugurate a Regional Industry, Skill and Employment (RISE) Conclave.

However, after refuelling at one of the petrol pumps the vehicles came to a half one after another in a bizarre situation the sort of which hardly witnessed before in any of the districts of Madhya Pradesh.

As it happened just after refuelling and not one or two vehicles but as many as 19 vehicles came to a halt it was suspected that the diesel supplied by the petrol pump was adulterated and possibly mixed with water.

The district administration got panicky on coming to know about this bizarre situation and acting swiftly sealed the petrol pump at night.

The action of sealing of the petrol pump was preceded by a number of district administration, police and food department officials reaching the petrol pump to see what had gone wrong over there.

The officials concerned immediately requisitioned vehicles from neighbouring Indore district to replace these vehicles to be a part of the CM’s convoy on Friday.

As per Food Department officials water content was found in the diesel and a further inquiry was going on to see how and how much the adulteration took place.
