CM criticised the conspiracy to undermine indigenous cow milk by promoting buffalo milk as more profitable. He encouraged people to use and value cow milk
Bhopal: Chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav said here on Thursday (June 26, 2025) there was a conspiracy to undermine indigenous cow milk and promote buffalo milk.
The CM said, “The state (Madhya Pradesh)’s milk production currently stands at 9% and efforts will be made to raise it to 25%.”
As per an official release the CM criticised ‘the conspiracy to undermine indigenous cow milk by promoting buffalo milk as more profitable. He encouraged people to use and value cow milk’.
CM was speaking in a programme on natural farming at Manas Bhavan in Jabalpur.
However, the CM didn’t elaborate on the conspiracy and conspirators.
CM described the programme named “Prakratik Kheti Ke Nam Ek Chaupal” as an inspiring initiative.

… pic.twitter.com/JPqFN7a01Z

He said natural farming assumed more significance in the wake of harmful effects of chemical farming.
Gujarat governor Acharya Devvrat was invited to attend the programme as a keynote speaker, who shared his personal experiences with natural farming.
CM Dr Yadav said he himself had practiced farming without chemical fertilizers.
He said use of chemical fertilizers increased due to western influence. With the growing interest in Indian knowledge systems, gaushalas (cow shelters) were being established to promote cow-rearing, which in turn supported natural farming through use of cow-based products.
CM said Madhya Pradesh had immense potential for natural farming and directed the Agriculture minister to formulate policies to promote it while assuring full support for its implementation.
Dr Mohan Yadav announced that there would be separate arrangements at Mandis for procurement of crops grown through natural and chemical methods.

He said using Jeevamrit (a natural fertilizer made from cow dung) enhanced crop yield while also safeguarding soil health.
Earlier, Gujarat governor Acharya Devvrat said he started natural farming in five acres of land and witnessed a qualitative increase in the yield from the very first year.
He said he continued to practise and achieve better production through natural farming.
He explained adverse effect of chemical farming and expected of farmers to adopt natural farming.
He also underlined distinction between organic and natural farming.
He said, “Just as forest trees yield abundantly without any fertilizers or irrigation, nature, through its ecosystem, balances everything in its original form, which is not harmful to human health.”
Natural farming, he stressed, was a blessing for life. Use of chemical fertilizers must be stopped as it destroyed insects which were beneficial and it also reduced soil fertility.
Public Works minister Rakesh Singh underlined importance of natural farming and urged farmers to embrace it for a sustainable future.
The minister quoted ancient texts like Vrikshayurveda and Brihat Samhita by Sage Parashara and explained that predictions of rainfall were based on scientific methods even in ancient times.
Others who attended the programme include Agriculture minister Aidal Singh Kansana, Jabalpur mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Valmiki, MP Ashish Dubey, MLAs Ajay Vishnoi, Ashok Rohani, Dr Abhilash Pandey, Santosh Barkade and Neeraj Singh, district panchayat chairperson Asha Mukesh Gotia.
